【摘要】:ItisanticipatedthattheASTMSubcommitteesA01.06,A01.10,A01.17,A01.22,andA01.28willusethestandardcompositionlimitslistedinthisguideforthegradesidentifiedbythecorrespondingUNSdesignationintheproductspecificationunlessthereisaspecifictechnicaljustificationfordoingotherwise.Thecompositionsinthisguideshallnotbeconsideredaschemicalrequirementsforanyparticularproductuntiladoptedbythesubcommitteeoverseeingthatproduct.Assumingthatuniformcompositionsamongthemanyproductstandardsforstainlesssteelaredesirable,thecompositionlimitsprovidedinthisstandardaretobeusedasguidesindetermininglimitsforeachoftheelementsincludedinthetotalcompositionofeachgrade.Thecompositionlimitshavebeenestablishedwiththeintentthateachproductsubcommitteewillfinditnecessarytorequireonlyaminimumnumberofchangestoreflectspecifictechnicaleffects.Section5liststhegeneralguidelinesfollowedfordeterminingthelimitsforeachelement;thelimitsestablishedinthisguidearebasedontheseguidelines.NotincludedinthisstandardstainlesssteelgradeharmonizationeffortisanattempttounifystainlesssteelcompositionsinASTMproductstandardsbyanymeansotherthanrecognizingcurrentindustrypractices.1.1ThisdocumentprovidesaguidetoASTMSubcommitteesA01.06,A01.10,A01.17,A01.22,andA01.28forspecifyingchemicalcompositionlimitsofwroughtstainlesssteels.Itisintendedthattheserecommendedgradecompositionlimitsbesuitableforadoptionbyotherstandardizationbodiesthatpreparestandardsforstainlesssteelproducts.1.2IncludedinthisguidearetherecommendationsfordeterminingthenumberofsignificantfiguresforspecifyingchemicalcompositionfromTestMethods,Practices,andTerminologyA751.1.3AllstainlesssteelUNSnumbersandthestainlesssteelgradesinallstandardsoverseenbytheaforementionedASTMsubcommitteeshavebeenincluded,exceptthosegradesapplicabletorestrictedspecialendusesandalloyscontaininglessthan10.5%minimumchromium.1.4Notaddressedareminorcompositionmodificationswhichaspecificproductsubcommitteemayfindnecessarytoaccommodateeffectsofnormalprocessingortoenhancefabricabilitybytheproduceroruser,orboth.1.5Alsonotgenerallyaddressed(exceptwhenestablishedbyASTMproductsubcommittees)isacompleterationalizationofalllimits,especiallywhensuchwouldconflictwithlong-standingpracticesandisnotjustifiedbyspecialtechnicaleffect.1.6Excludedfromthisguidearecastmaterialandweldingfillermetal.
