【摘要】:Thistestmethoddescribesaprocedureforthedeterminationofthecoefficientofstaticfrictionofpapermeasuredwhenslidingagainstitself.Theinclinedplaneprocedureisused.Althoughthistestmethodisbasicinconcept,theprecisionstatementhasbeendevelopedonuncoatedwritingandprintingpapers.Whiletheuseofthistestmethodisrecommendedforthosegradesonly,itmaybeusedwithothertypesofpapergivingspecificattentiontospecialpapercharacteristicsandwiththeunderstandingthattheprecisionmaynotbethesame.Staticcoefficientoffriction(COF)relatestotheforcerequiredtoinitiatemovementbetweentwosurfaceswhilekineticCOFrelatestotheforcerequiredtocausecontinuationofthemovementatuniformspeed.KineticCOFcannotbemeasuredbythistestmethod.BothstaticandkineticCOFcanbemeasuredbyTestMethodD4917.AhorizontalplanemethodisdescribedinTestMethodD4917,whichgivessimilarresults.Thechoiceofapproachdependsupontheequipmentavailableandthemeansofmeasurement.ThedeterminationofthischaracteristicforcorrugatedandsolidfiberboardisdescribedinTestMethodsD4521andD3247.Thetestmethodsdifferinthat,inTestMethodsD4521andD3247,thetwospecimensareallowedtoslipupononeanotherthreetimesbeforetheangleofinclinationisdetermined,whileinthistestmethod,theangleisdeterminedonthefirstslip.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
